Katarzyna Boni: Workshops of Death

Born in 1982, a graduate in culture studies (Warsaw University), social psychology (SWPS University) and Polish School of Reportage. She specializes in reportages on Asia where she spent four years (in Japan, China and Indonesia, among others). Author of Kontener (“A Container”), a book about Syrian refugees (co-authored by Wojciech Tochman) and Ganbare! Warsztaty umierania (“Ganbare! Workshops of Death”). She received “Gryfia”, the Polish Literary Award for Female Writers based in Szczecin. “This reportage is a polyphonic story about everything and an attempt at a life in the shadow of death,” said the award jury president, Joanna Laprus-Mikulska.
