Gonca Özmen: POETRY

A poet and a translator, born in 1982, graduated from the English Language and Literature Department at Istanbul University. At the age of 15, she had her first poem published, and three years later, she made her debut with a poetry collection Kuytumda [In My Nook]. Her outstanding talent has drawn immediate attention and she began to receive awards, for example, the Yaşara Nabiho Nayıra Youth Award or the Berna Moran Poetry Prize. Özmen proved her talent again eight years later with the book Belki Sessiz [Maybe Quiet]. She is one of the editors of the literary translation magazine Ç.N. (Çevirmenin Notu) and works as a translator herself.
