Petr & Pavel Hruška: One or the Other, Petr or Pavel

Born in 1964 in Ostrava. They both have a degree in Czech literature and follow their chosen path as authors, editors, historians, scientists, critics, columnists. Pavel teaches at the Silesian University in Opava. Petr works at the Institue of Czech Literature of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Pavel is the editor of the anthology Tak dobrá je to hra: Fotbal v české poezii (So good a game: Soccer in Czech poetry; 2004). Petr has published seven collections of poetry (the latest one being Nevlastní (Not My Own; 2017), written a biography of Czech poet Karel Šiktanc (Někde tady (Here somewhere; 2010) and prepared for publishing the collected works of Czech writer Jan Balabán. Pavel is a member of Beautification Society  "To Make Ostrava Beautiful". Petr is the 2013 laureate of the Czech State Award for Literature. Both are fans of the Czech poet Petr Bezruč.
